IACP London Conference 2012 Wrap-Up

The International Association of Claim Professionals (IACP) today held its 15th Annual IACP London Conference at the Old Library at Lloyd’s of London.

Stuart Willoughby, IACP President and Global Head of Claims at SCOR opened the event with a warm President’s welcome to the audience which filled the Old Library to capacity. With over 130 delegates in attendance, it was a record turnout for this event.

An interesting panel session on The “Dos and Don’ts” of Outsourcing was moderated by Steve Clarke, IACP Conference Co-Chair and Director of Steve Clarke Consultancy. The speakers on the panel were Paul Moss of Montpelier Re, Robert Ruryk of North American Risk Services and Mark Sullivan of Xchanging. In contrast to the panel session, the next presentation, introduced by Hans Allnutt of DAC Beachcroft, was an update on the latest hacking routes and the legal barriers by Solomon Bhala of
SpiderLabs EMEA, Trustwave.

The lively and eclectic session programme was completed by a talk on Electrical Grid Failure Modes Due to Solar Flares by Kyle Beatty of AER Business Solutions and a panel session on Private Risk Management moderated by Nigel Brook, Partner at Clyde & Co, featuring James Keaney of Chubb, Robert Read of Hiscox and Charles Hamilton Stubber of Aon Risk Solutions.

The formal event concluded with a Keynote Address by John O’Neill, CEO of MarketForm entitled “Insurance – Six View of the Industry” – an entertaining perspective on the market.
At the conclusion of the formal sessions, the delegates broke for a networking lunch.
